Old Dog Haven is a small nonprofit group using a large network of foster homes to provide a loving safe home for abandoned senior dogs. When we have room and the means, we take these dogs into our homes. We adopt out those dogs with a reasonable life-expectancy. We care for the rest in permanent foster home (what we call “Final Refuge”) for as long as they have good quality of life. In addition, we try to assist owners in finding new homes for their senior dogs through our website and referrals.
Pictured above is our 14-year-old, final-refuge, Pekingnese, Marvin. He's been living out his retirement with us for two years now and we hope he lives forever! Like a lot of Peke's, he is opinionated and bossy which makes him an exellent treat taster. If you are interested in a treat taster of your own, click on Marv or the ODH logo above for more information regarding an excellent final refuge program!
The ACCES Blood Bank is dedicated to providing a safe and plentiful blood supply to animals in need. Our goal is to ensure that all cats and dogs who present to emergency facilities or family veterinary practices across the region have access to life-saving blood products.
Our 8-year-old Aussie mix, "Bernie" dontates blood every 2-3 months and it is often used immediately for dogs who are in need for various urgent care. He most recently made his 26th donation and LOVES going! It only takes about 30 - 40 minutes and he gets to pick a toy out of the box, leaving with a belly full of treats. It is very rewarding for him as well as for us. Click above for more details!
